Summer 2022: I want to travel to Greece

monastiraki-athens

From 15 March 2022 onwards, travellers visiting Greece are no longer required to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF).

Additionally, as of Sunday 01.05.2022 and for as long as the epidemiological data allow so, all travellers arriving in Greece, regardless of their country of origin, are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or evidence of a negative test result from SARS-CoV-2 infection (PCR or Rapid Antigen test).

However, a simplified PLF remains in operation, the completion of which is OPTIONAL, for the sole purpose of enabling the traveller / family to issue an EU Certificate of negative or positive COVID-19 test result.

Travellers, who decide to fill out the simplified form, will receive the PLF with their unique Quick Response (QR) code via email (the QR code will be provided in a link in the email).

The PLF can also be found on the Visit Greece app and at travel.gov.gr. It is strongly recommended that all visitors download the Visit Greece app (GDPR compliant) for free, prior to their arrival in Greece.

In terms of transport, the use of a high respiratory protection mask (FFP2 or N95) or alternatively a double mask (surgical and fabric) is now mandatory only in public transport [such as OASA SA and OASTH SA buses, municipal buses, public transport fixed track of responsibility STASY SA, railway when moving in urban area, lifts (cable car)].

Protection measures applicable to all activities:

1. Placing/using an alcoholic solution of more than seventy per cent

one hundred (70%) for hand antisepsis.

2. Ventilation of premises in a natural or artificial way.

WHAT’S NEW? (updated 3-6-2022)

Hotels are open, in compliance with the health protocols in place.

There is freedom of movement around the clock.

There are no Covid-19 restrictions applicable to domestic travel by train, intercity bus, or plane. Boat passengers are required to wear a face mask in enclosed areas. It is not mandatory to wear one in cruise ships, unless over 2% of the passengers get infected with Covid-19, or over 4% of the crew members within a week, or in the event that there is a Covid-19 increase of infections within a 48-hour period among over 1% of the overall number of those aboard.

Face mask is not mandatory. However, it is recommended to use one in crowded areas, especially if you are at high risk for severe illness.
It is mandatory to wear either a double face mask (a cloth mask and a surgical mask) or a high filtration face mask when using the public city transport means, and aboard taxis. A fine is payable for not wearing one. This restriction does not apply to city tour bus passengers.
If you need to be screened for SARS-CoV-2 before your return trip, please visit the map of Covid-19 Diagnostic Testing locations, which you can access through the Visit Greece App available for downloading in English and Greek.
